close your eyes and think about these 2 words goa and fort so what do you see? fort aguada? i used to see it too but not since i have been to the reis magos fort in the reis magos area of north goa
Cabo de Rama, so what is so special about this fort? well for firsts, the reis magos fort predates fort aguada by half a century and thats not all what it lacks in current popularity is more than made up by its lack of crowds
you can have the full day to yourself and still not get bothered by boredom or nasty crowds trust me this place is that calm and serene enjoy a rainy day and absorb the beauty of goa like the offbeat traveller that you are when i had gone there in the month of april 2016 there was this little exhibition running... images of goa.. real and imagined and it showcased our beloved beautiful alluring colonial age goa almost the entire exhibition is in pictures and paintings showcasing goa in its olden days whether it is the fish market or the riverside area of panjim
everything is captured in this beautiful exhibition now, this fort which until 1993 was used as a prison was recently restored and opened for public in 2012 by the then chief minister of goa mr. manohar parrikar the upper section of the fort also houses another exhibition on the works of mario de miranda now, he was a very famous cartoonist in the late 1950s and 1960s i almost immediately fell in love with his work and ended up buying two of his collections from the curio shop located in the lower section of the fort. his collection basically journals the life in the cities he has lived in or he has been to
so i really hope that you will give the reis magos fort a definite try on your next visit to goa and you will absolutely love it the way i did the history is tantalizing, the views are amazing and the fort is just extraordinary hello everybody, i really hope that you liked the tour of reis magos and this is the view from the exit. do let me know about this video and about your trip to the reis magos fort i reall hope you have a nice time there. thank you and bbye.
