Ashwem Beach

Ashwem Beach - Best Place to Travel

so yes, here i am in india and this is the story i want to tell you in this video but before that, i have to explain how i got here. for that, i have to give you some context. - context -

Ashwem Beach

Ashwem Beach, in fact, last october i left for two months in asia and it was in cambodia that i have spent the most of my time. i volunteered on an island, i met a lot of cool people and more of that, i learned to dive. i lived here, in this bungallow.

after two weeks, i met my two new roommates. kate and martha, two english girls super nice but a little bit crazy. in addition to living under the same roof, we had diving courses in common, so we spent a lot of time together and we very quickly got on well. that was on the boat, with kate and martha and the guy lying there, is also super important. his name is panda, our diving instructor. he is indian. do you see the plot, now ? in the evening, on the island the most beautiful place was the pear,

because you could see the stars but also the bioluminescence of the plankton in the water. one of those evenings, when we were on the pier and drinking hot chocolate, obviously ... panda asked us what we were going to do next. the girls replied that they were going to india, because it was planned for the rest of their trip. we thought, it would be a good idea to meet up there. so, i was asked what i thought. if i remember well, i said it would be great. as a result, in returning to france, i did two searches on my computer. the first one to find cheap flights to india,

and the second one, to find the website to request a visa. and here i am in frankfurt on tuesday, february 7, 2017 at 9:34 pm, aboard a boeing 787 dreamliner from air india, flight ai120 to dehli. dehli is only a connection. the purpose of the trip is to visit the south-western part of india it all starts in bangalore it's panda's mom who welcomes us, kate martha and i, this evening. the diving instructor ? i swear, we will meet him later. now he works in the state of goa,

where we will finish our journey. between the two steps, i don't know what will happen... it has already been a while that got it into my head to film our adventures unfortunately, putting music on beautiful pictures, it was not enough so, i asked kate... ...and martha to help me and that's what they did. i asked them to share their vision of the trip... their experiences and for this first time, it's martha who's on it.

martha is not wrong, mysore is really nice it's a real breath of fresh air, after bangalore and its 8 million inhabitants. so, we let ourselves be taken by the rhythm. whether walking or by tuk tuk, we took the time to discover what the city had to offer us. after this wonderful evening we all went back to the hotel, we all went to bed

and everyone had sweet dreams. everyone ? ...everyone except me. i got my first setbacks with indian food. a real pleasure before a morning awakening it's a little sad to say, for us, the best part about ooty was leaving. it's not that we didn't like the city at all, but ooty is notably known for its steam train built in 1908.

it descends the whole mountain and crosses magnificent landscapes. well, after that i was inevitably a bit in a bad mood and i really couldn't enjoy the trek offered by the resort. well, a trek... if we can call it a trek. it was more like a photo shoot. in other words, there was an hotel employee who was stopping us every 10 meters and was explaining us how to pose.

yes, it was a bit unfortunate. especially, because the view was very very nice. about beautiful views... you see this one ? i wish you didn't see this one. because it was at this location and at that precise moment, that i lost the microphone from my camera let me explain to you quickly... so, to have such a beautiful view,

muggins is there, right here by the roadside. he tells himself that it's beautiful and that he would love to film. for this, he takes his small bag with his camera inside ... fyi, on muggins' camera. by the way, very beautifully represented here, the microphone is there, just above the lens. so, at this precise moment when muggins opens his little bag to take nice shots, the microphone decides to have a totally autonomous life and moves towards freedom by dipping directly into the lake.

et voilã ... so, muggins was already a having a bad day having lost his shoes the same morning before that he was already sulky, but now he is really sulky so, what do we retain from this whole story? well... kate did her laundry what is great when you travel, is that you never get stuck onto your emotions and you find very quickly the smile again. so the next day, we decided to do a trek.

but a real one, this time! after spending nearly half a day in the temple, we decided to go for a walk to the covered market, just across the street. it was an opportunity to discover the indian tailors, who work in the middle of the market right here in front of you. they are installed right in front of the stalls where you can buy cloth. i admit it, doing an interview in a train station at nightfall was maybe not the smartest. now, we are in cochin. there is a voice that keeps interrupting us.

it is 7:06 pm and we have a night train for gokarna in less than an hour. the worst part of all this is that we have not eaten yet. so for those who wonder, gokarna it looks like this! well... let me rewind. so, this morning we had to get up early to discover the periyar nature reserve. martha left on her trip and kate and i on another one. we had a good breakfast and we were ready. after that, we spent our last day in alleppey enjoying the beach. around 5:00 pm, we took the train with alex to go to cochin.

if you don't have too short a memory, cochin should remind you of something. yes, that's where we tried to do an interview with kate in the middle of a train station. so, if we go back to the timeline, we remember that we were in kumily or we went on a trek. then, we were in alleppey, where we were boating a whole day. we just joined cochin by train. we are saying goodbye to alex and we are getting ready to take a night train to go to gokarna. as a reminder, gokarna it's that. so, how does it works in a night train ?

you go in, you find your place, as with all trains. you prepare your bed, then a random traveler draws on you feet and you fall deeply asleep, just using only one earplug because you lost the other one. this is magic after 12 hours of travel you arrive at destination, feeling fresh because you are unorganized and you didn't have the time to take a shower before leaving. so, hampi looks like this. if i were trying to describe the place, it would be a mix between the grand canyon, greek ruins and angkor temples in cambodia.

hampi it's 400 temples on 30km2 so, we tried to visit everything but it was not possible ... the 3rd day in hampi we met claire, a super friendly english woman who made us discover her lost paradise. after 5km in tuk tuk and 30 minutes hiking through a banana plantation and a rock desert, we arrived here. we spent a good part of the day sunbathing and trying to refresh despite the blazing sun. in the late afternoon we took a tuk tuk...

with pigeons, and a night bus without pigeons but with bunk beds, to go to goa, the final leg of our trip to be honest, we didn't do that much in goa. we mainly bathed at the beach or at the pool of the work place of our friend panda. ah yes, panda it's him. remember, he is our diving instructor that we haven't seen for the last 3 months. this is vida a cambodian student who lived with us on the island. well, we couldn't come to goa to find our friend, the diving instructor without going diving.

so, we took a boat and we went diving around a wreck. here we are, it is on this last sunset that ends our month of adventure in india, but as every nice adventures it requires an epilogue. i loved india for what i saw, but i especially loved to film it. and my final words would be ...
